Alchemy Theatre Company is moving to Diamond Bar – NEWS

Written by Patrick Chavis

For those unaware of Alchemy Theatre Company, this was taken from their website.

“Alchemy Theatre Company was founded in 2012 by Cory John, Jeff Lowe, Jesse Runde, Stephen John, and Tiffany Berg. The ensemble met working on productions around Orange County and decided to band together out of a desire to diversify the scope of theatre generated in their local community.”

After a decade of putting on shows in Orange County, the theatre company is permanently moving its productions to Diamond Bar.

“We’re well on our way to becoming a service of the city. I’m the new Drama Coach at Diamond Ranch High School,” said Lowe, “And I will also be teaching an acting class at the Diamond Bar Center this summer around the same time as our Summer Shakespeare. We want Alchemy, and therefore Diamond Bar, to have a place where not only can productions be put on, but also gala events for other businesses, weddings, concerts, improv, and date nights. Together we can establish a place in our city that elevates and entertains without sacrificing the quiet comfort that makes Diamond Bar home.”

The company will be putting on their first show in a while: William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with performances on Sundays in July (July 10, 17, 24, and 31) at 11 am at Summitridge Park in Diamond Bar.

I will miss reviewing their shows on the curtain and wish them luck in their new city. I will continue to follow their shows on my LA Theatre Bites – Podcast.

Jeff Lowe was the runner-up for best director in 2019 with his fantastic production of Puffs at the sorely missed STAGEStheatre in Fullerton.
