Orange County Theatre Reviews

Taken from the press release:

“WE’RE GONNA DIE” features a single Singer, accompanied by a full rock bad, as she shares

stories about death, grief and loneliness from her life. These stories range from the mundane to

the tragic, from discovering her first white hair to her father’s sudden and tragic death from

lung cancer as he waited for an experimental treatment. Lee’s songs and stories demystify grief,

creating a community space that provides the solace that we need to get through those

difficult moments.

Producer Sophie Blumberg will present the Los Angeles premiere of “WE’RE GONNA DIE” , the existential cabaret written by Young Jean Lee , directed by Monty Cole, and featuring Pricilla Jin Chung and the band Laugh Queens . This performance takes place for one night only at the Bootleg Theater, 2220 Beverly Boulevard , Los Angeles, CA

WE’RE GONNA DIE was originally produced by Caleb Hammons for 13 Playwrights Doors open at 7pm. Laugh Queens perform an opening set at 7:30pm. WE’RE GONNA DIE performs at 8:30pm. WE’RE GONNA DIE is one hour in duration. The performance is followed by a reception, sponsored by the CalArts Alumni Office.
