OC Theatre Guild Has Created a Theatre Artists’ Relief Fund

The OC Theatre Guild recognizes the struggles that face individual artists in light of COVID-19. With theatre doors closing, many have lost contracts and wages on which they depend. We also understand that with the uncertain nature of this crisis, we can not predict when jobs will return.

Our mission is to nurture, support and promote live theatre in Greater Orange County. It is our hope that by supporting independent artists in their time of need, we will nurture the community as a whole. This is where you come in. If you are able, we encourage you to donate to the artists in need by visiting our OCTG Theatre Artists Relief Fund.

If you are an artist that needs financial support as a result of COVID-19, you’ll find an application link on this page as well. (Post taken from OC Theatre Guild)

Bootleg Theater and Sophie Blumberg Present “WE’RE GONNA DIE One Night Only Thursday, February 20th, 2020

Taken from the press release:

“WE’RE GONNA DIE” features a single Singer, accompanied by a full rock bad, as she shares

stories about death, grief and loneliness from her life. These stories range from the mundane to

the tragic, from discovering her first white hair to her father’s sudden and tragic death from

lung cancer as he waited for an experimental treatment. Lee’s songs and stories demystify grief,

creating a community space that provides the solace that we need to get through those

difficult moments.

THEATRE PALISADES presents: Steel Magnolias playing @ PIERSON PLAYHOUSE January 10 – February 16, 2020

How do you solve a problem like that child Shelby?! You don’t. A tender, funny, sad, funny play about the family tug of war between mother (M’lynn) and daughter (Shelby). And their friends who all come to the same beauty parlor where life and its issues get discussed and dissected in a very Southern and ladylike way. A perennial favorite of the American stage! The goal is to create a more cohesive theater community through the networking events and skills-building programs. To better accommodate the theater community.  LMDA & LA STAGE created surveys to figure out how to make better events and programs.  The more Los Angeles directors, playwrights, dramaturgs & literary managers submit on the survey the better programs LA STAGE and LMDA can provide to the community.

Old Acquaintances @ Westminster Community Playhouse March 8 – March 25

A delightfully witty play about two childhood best friends who are now dealing with success and love on their own terms. Both well-known authors; one a critical darling and the other a prolific bestseller. No nonsense gal Katharine “Kit” Markham, is currently working on her latest novel and carrying on a steamy love affair with a younger man. While the other; a meddling divorcee, Mildred Drake is refusing to loosen her overbearing claws on her free-spirited daughter Deirdre and struggles with a deep hidden jealously of Kit.

Once a 1943 film by the same name with stars Bette Davis, Miriam Hopkins and Gig Young; WCP brings you another Hollywood Classic that tackles the boundaries of friendship and true meaning behind the word “frenemy”.

Spotlighting the talents of:

Kimberly Wooldridge, Maria O’Connor, Grace O’Neill, Jeremy Krasovic, Rick Werblin, Laurie Robbins, Tamra Talbert
