Cover Art : OCR Magazine Volume One – Available Soon

Here is the early artwork rendering for the cover of our first Annual Magazine. The cover art is by Jazmin Salas.

The Orange Curtain Review is releasing its first annual magazine, and it’s filled with a compendium of knowledge on Orange County theatre.  Digital and a limited release of print copies will be available. The magazine consists of feature articles on local theatre happenings, opinion pieces, actor profiles and of course the final review on some of the best shows in the county.

To help promote the launch of our first magazine we are using Thunderclap, a social media website, to get the word out. The catch is we need 100 people to go on the site and click they support the making of the magazine during the next few days. Thunderclap requires no money or subscription of any kind. Me, Alina and the entire OCR crew would appreciate your support.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play Comes Home to STAGEStheatre for the Holidays

Fullerton CA—There aren’t many things that signal the beginning of the holiday season quite like watching It’s a Wonderful Life.  STAGEStheatre is proud to kick off the holiday season with the adaptation of this heartwarming classic. In Joe Landry’s adaptation, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play it’s December 24, 1946 in Studio A at WSTG Radio and a cast of actors are preparing to present It’s a Wonderful Life live to their listening audience. With the help of a pianist and a sound effects artist, the ensemble recreates the story of George Bailey, a young man whose dreams of traveling the world are thwarted by his sense of responsibility to the family business. Down on his luck, George Bailey, a compassionate yet disheartened businessman, is at the end of his rope, questioning his purpose in life. Just when he comes to believe that life is not worth the effort, some divine intervention allows him to see the way that his life has affected all those he loves, and he learns what his life is really worth.  Continue Reading

AMB Theatre Podcast #42 presented by OCR : The Eight Reindeer Monologues @ The Chance Theatre in Anaheim – Podcast

runs through December 20.

In the past Santa has been caught making very inappropriate sexual advances on Vixen, and everyone knows about it.  But this only happens when Santa is not taking time out to harass the elves or when Mrs. Claus isn’t doing wildly inappropriate costuming acts with them. It seems the North Pole is in serious need of some SVU cops, or at the very least an HR office.

Please help support OCR Magazine by supporting the Thunderclap. It’s free all you have to do is go to the page and click support through facebook. With your help we will be able to promote OCR Magazine and Orange County Theatre.

Thank you

Deep Dark Reindeer Secrets : The Eight Reindeer Monologues @ The Chance Theatre in Anaheim – Review

Written by Scotty Keister

Who knew the reindeer were so disgruntled? But considering the secrets we find out about the real Santa (not to mention his wife) in The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, it’s no freaking wonder. It’s also no wonder this is the 12th year the Chance Theater has brought this show back for Christmas. For those seeking out a particularly irreverent holiday show, they need seek no further.
