WESTMINSTER, CA, October 17, 2024 – The Westminster Community Playhouse will present Spider’s Web weekends from November 8th through the 24th at its exclusive theater venue at 727 Maple Street in downtown Westminster.
Agatha Christie’s Spider’s Web, first written in 1954, remains a hidden gem in the queen of crime’s repertoire. This lesser-known mystery centers on Clarissa Hailsham-Brown, the quick-witted wife of a diplomat who relishes in spinning tall tales of adventure—until a real murder lands in her drawing room. Faced with the daunting task of hiding the body before her husband arrives with a high-profile guest, Clarissa turns to her unsuspecting dinner party guests for help. Chaos and comedy collide as their cover-up is thwarted by the unexpected arrival of the sharp-minded Inspector Lord, adding a witty twist to the suspenseful plot. Christie’s clever mix of humor and intrigue ensures Spider’s Web is a delightful theatrical experience.
““I love Agatha Christie and Spider’s Web is not performed often enough,” said Director Jim Katapodis. “Audiences won’t be able to turn away from all the plot twists in the murder mystery and the thrust stage is always a fun way to see a show because every seat is a great seat. You can practically reach out and touch the actors – but please don’t!
