Written by Award-Winning Playwright Jessica Moss

LOS ANGELES, CA

This summer, InHouse Theatre Company stages a biting new satire with the West Coast premiere of Thank You for Your Order, written by award-winning playwright Jessica Moss (Instagirl – 2023 Neukom Prize Winner, Funnie: The Most Lamentable Comedie of Jane the Foole – O’Neill finalist, and Our Play – 2023

Lanford Wilson award winner). Directed by award-winning filmmaker Tamar Halpern (Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life, Llyn Foulkes One Man Band), the play runs for only two weeks — July 17–21 and July 24–28 — with performances Thursday through Monday at 8 PM, staged as an immersive, site-specific theatrical experience at the iconic Brewery Arts Complex in Los Angeles.

Zara wants to save the world. Her boyfriend Matty wants free, same-day delivery. When an all-knowing and unsettlingly chipper customer service rep arrives at their door, their relationship must withstand an AI-driven, consumerist nightmare. As delivery boxes stack higher and their smart speaker threatens murder, Zara and Matty discover they might not know themselves as well as they think they do. Wickedly funny and disturbingly prescient, Thank You for Your Order reflects a world in which creating a new identity is as easy as clicking “Add to Cart.”

Featuring:

Susan-Kate Heaney (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Mindy Project), Elizabeth Schmidt (Hollywood, Grey’s Anatomy), and Rob Welsh (Unbelievable, Hawaii 5-0)

Have you ever wanted to stop climate change but also wanted to buy a new hat and have it delivered right to your door?” asks playwright Jessica Moss. “And can we love each other under late-stage capitalism? The answer is ‘no’…”

Director Tamar Halpern calls Thank You For Your Order, “A hilarious and delightfully unhinged look at our rampant materialism and obsession with convenience, as well as our collective anxiety about the end of the world. We are all the abyss.

And we all want Macaw-shaped bookends delivered to our doorstep ASAP.”Performance Dates:

July 17–21 and July 24–28, 2025

Thursdays through Mondays at 8:00 PM

Location:

A secret location within the Brewery Arts Complex
