Even though circumstances may keep us apart—especially during the pandemic—food and theatre have a way of bringing people together. MASA is a live, online reading of four short pieces that relate to the historical and cultural importance of masa. This free event will be livestreamed on Monday, Aug. 17, at 5:30 p.m.
“Since every recipe has a lineage, and a story, how do we reach back into the past and embrace the traditions of our ancestors?” asks playwright Juliette Carrillo, who will direct MASA. “I’m interested in how recipes, smells and tastes live in our DNA.”
