COSTA MESA, CA | Segerstrom Center for the Arts is excited to announce Broadway Thursdays at the Frida, a summer movie series in partnership with The Frida Cinema in downtown Santa Ana. Every Thursday evening in August, audiences are invited to enjoy screenings of heartwarming and nostalgic films inspired by the Center’s upcoming 2024-2025 Broadway season.

Logan Crow, Executive Director and Founder of The Frida Cinema, shares, “Partnering with Segerstrom Center for the Arts feels natural for The Frida, as both institutions offer communities a place for collective storytelling. Many acclaimed films started on stage and recently we’ve seen an exciting trend of live shows based on films. Some non-musical films have even become stage musicals, which were then adapted into film musicals! When Segerstrom told us about their upcoming slate of five shows connected to cinema, we jumped at the opportunity to partner.  This newly developed Broadway movie series not only showcases great films and exciting Broadway shows at Segerstrom, but also highlights the deep connection between live theater and cinema and how each enriches our cultural landscape uniquely.”
